Enhance knowledge and advance your career in Art, Design and other creative industries. Morning classes take place in historic palazzos located in the centre of Venice. Topics include European Art History; Art, Architecture and Venice; Art and Business, European Fashion, Art criticism, Exhibition creation. You spend afternoons visiting galleries, artist studios and Venice Biennale known as The Art World's Olympics.

May 6 -13.
Join for special week of Biennale preview and opening parties.
Start July 10, 17, 24 or August 7,14 and 21.
Join for 1, 2 or 3 week course and experience Biennale in full play.
Who can apply
Our participants come from all backgrounds and the course is open for anyone with an interest in Arts, Architecture and Culture. Students are awarded a certificate upon successful completion.
The tuition fee for one week is EUR 950. The
three week course is EUR 2850. The fee includes tuition, all course materials, passes to all museums. The fee does not include airline tickets, visa or accommodation.
Accommodation available at extra fee.

The program is a balanced combination of classes on contemporary art, meetings with artists, visits to incredible museums and preview parties. It is a rare opportunity to see historic venetian palazzos before they open to the public, observe the setup of the exhibition and meet international art crowd.

10:00 - 13:00 How art exhibitions are created? Guided tour in Palazzo Michiel and Mora by the curator.
14:00 - 17:00 Meeting with the artists and a unique chance to hear them present their work.
Monday, May 8
10:00 - 13:00 Cultural institutions today: role of museums, galleries, art fairs and private collections.
14:00 - 17:00 Visit to the setup of the Venice Gardens open-air Exhibition. Meeting with curatorial team.
Tuesday, May 9
10:00 - 13:00 Art workshop. Let's get inspired!
14:00 - 17:00 Visit to the glass studio and production site at the famous Murano island.
Wednesday, May 10
10:00 - 13:00 Curatorial Practices with Rene Rietmeyer.
14:00 - 17:00 Guided visit to the studios of young artists-in-residence, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa (oldest in Italy).
Thursday, May 11
10:00 - 13:00 Art writing/criticism & practical Art class.
14:00 - 17:00 Visit to the famous art collection in Punta Della Dogana, owned by the fashion tycoon Francois Pinault.
Friday, May 12
10:00 - 13:00 Art and business
18:00 - 00:00 Preview party & catering, you are invited to see the exhibition before everyone else.
Saturday, May 13
10:00 - 13:00 European film, video and fashion.
18:00 - 00:00 Opening party in several palazzos and an open garden. Join artists, gallerists, curators and art crowd.
Sunday, May 14
Optional: extra visit to Giardini and Arsenale, main Biennale venues.

Three different week-long modules. Each week has a specific focus and can also be booked single.

Week 1
Contemporary Art

Academics, researchers and other experts from the art world present different perspectives and critical contemporary issues that confront professionals today. In addition, we visit relevant exhibitions and cultural institutions in Venice. Below are some of the topics that will be discussed:
- Exhibition planning: financing, design, setup
- Contemporary curatorial practices
- Working in art today: issues and realities
- Communication in art

Week 2
Venice Biennale

Get to know how national pavilions and collateral events are created as part of Venice Biennale. From the first thought until the actual building of an exhibition. You will learn the challenges that participants and curators face and what impact the participation might have on your career. Extensive Venice Biennale visits are included in this week.

Week 3
Art Practices

Being it an exhibition project, a publication or another cultural event, with the support of our team you realize a project and have an opportunity to present it to a wider audience.
